VCOM International Student Policy ____________________________________________________________________________________

PURPOSE The purpose for the International Student Policy is to ensure that international students seeking admission to VCOM meet admission requirements and have the skills necessary to be successful students and physicians.

ADMISSION GUIDELINES

The following guidelines are in place for international students seeking admission:

 International students applying for admission must meet all other requirements for admission and complete the stated application process.  Proficiency in the English language, both written and spoken, is required if the student’s educational program was in a language other than English. TOEFL or IELTS scores may be required. For registration information, contact: TOEFL, Educational Testing Services, P.O. Box 6151, Princeton, NJ 08541-6151 (609) 771-7100 or IELTS International Cambridge Examinations, 1024 West Orange Grove Avenue, Arcadia, CA 91006 (626) 355-0650.  All course work taken at a foreign institution must be evaluated for American institution equivalence by one of the following four services: World Education Services, Inc., P.O. Box 745, Old Chelsea Station, New York, NY 10011 (212) 966-6311; Josef Silny & Associates, Inc., International Education Consultants, P.O. Box 248233, Coral Gables, FL 33124, (305) 666 0233; Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc., P.O. Box 514070, Milwaukee, WI 53203-3470 (414) 289-3400; OR Intl. Education Research Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 66940, Los Angeles, CA 90066, or call (310) 390-6276. All coursework must be submitted to AACOMAS and processed according to their guidelines.

 Credit for advanced standing will not be offered.

 International students are not eligible for federal (or most other forms) of aid.
