VCOM College Catalog and Student Handbook
Tuition and Fees
Admissions Application Fee Upon submission of secondary applications for admissions to VCOM, a nonrefundable fee of $50.00 is due to VCOM. Please make checks payable to VCOM. Also, please note in the memo section of checks that they are for secondary application fees and provide the name(s) of the student(s) for whom the fees are being paid. A fee of $67.50 is assessed for the required background checks. These funds are submitted by the student directly to the company that does the background check. Acceptance Fee Upon acceptance to VCOM, a tuition deposit of $1,500 is due. The tuition deposit is non-refundable. Deposit due dates begin on December 14 for those who are accepted prior to that date. Applicants who were offered early decision acceptance must pay the tuition deposit within 2 weeks of the acceptance offer. Tuition deposits are credited toward tuition and fees upon matriculation. Applicants must follow the application process schedule published in the AACOM “College Information Booklet” located online at: www.aacom.org. The tuition deposit of $1,500 is waived for veterans and veteran dependents. The term “veteran” means a person who served in the active military, naval, or air service, and who was discharged or released therefrom under conditions other than dishonorable. A “veteran dependent” is a spouse of a veteran or unmarried widow(er) of a deceased veteran, or an unmarried child of a veteran, living or deceased, and the child is less than 27 years old. Tuition and Fees 2022-2023 Tuition is subject to change annually by VCOM’s Board of Directors. Tuition for the 2022-2023 academic year is $49,800. Currently VCOM does not charge any additional fees above the tuition. Students incur additional expenses such as an ExamSoft fee, fees for elective rotations to outside institutions in their OMS 4 year, and fees related to residency applications that are paid by the student directly to those entities. These expenses are included in the student’s cost of attendance in their financial aid application. VCOM seeks to keep student tuition low, ranking each year in the 10% of lowest tuitions among private medical schools in the country. Tuition is billed in two installments for each academic year, typically in July and December for the upcoming terms. Bills are sent electronically to the students’ VCOM email accounts and statements are also provided in the MyVCOM student portal. Payments are due in full within 30 days of the billing dates unless special arrangements have been made with the Provost or the Business Office. Tuition and fees must be paid by financial aid funds, personal monies, and/or scholarships by the due date. The due date will be determined by the Business Office(s) and communicated by email and via invoices that are sent to students each fall and spring. A late fee of 2% may be assessed if amounts owed are not paid in full by the due date, which is within the first seven days of the term. Moreover, if tuition and fees owed are not paid in full within the first seven days of the term, additional fees may be assessed. Students who do not pay tuition may not attend class and may not progress. Admission offers may be rescinded for nonpayment of tuition. Tuition may be paid with checks, payable to VCOM. The student’s name must be included on checks. Checks may be mailed or taken to the appropriate Business Office on each campus. VCOM also accepts credit/debit card and electronic funds transfer (EFT) payments for tuition through the MyVCOM student portal.
