OMS 4 Selective Clinical Rotations

Courses/Clinical Rotations: • (MED 8205) Intensive Medicine Selective: 4 credit hours Students may not take this rotation until after period 4 of their OMS 4 year. Students may choose from the following options: o 4 Week Rotations: Cardiac Care Unit (CCC), Family Medicine with Inpatient, Infectious Disease, Inpatient Cardiology, Inpatient Internal Medicine (Hospitalist), Inpatient Pulmonology, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Neonatology, Nephrology, Pediatric Critical Care (PICU), Sub internship Family Medicine, Sub-internship Internal Medicine, Sub-internship Pediatric, and Trauma Intensive Care. This list may not be all-inclusive, and students may seek approval for additional Intensive Medicine Selective alternatives to the Associate Dean. • (MED 8215/8216) Medical Selective: 4 credit hours Students must seek Associate Dean approval for any rotation that is less than the required length as specified below. If a site only offers a shorter rotation, the student must submit verification from the site that a longer rotation in the specialty is not offered. Students may choose from the following options: o 4 Week Rotations: Cardiac Care Unit (CCC), Cardiology, Endocrinology, Family Medicine, Gastroenterology, Hematology/Oncology, Hospitalist Medicine, Infectious Disease, Inpatient Cardiology, Inpatient Internal Medicine, Inpatient Pulmonology, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Neonatology, Nephrology, Neurology, Pediatric Based Medicine specialties, Pediatric Critical Care (PICU), Pediatric Psychiatry, Psychiatry, Pulmonary, Sub-internship Family Medicine, Sub internship Internal Medicine, Sub-internship Pediatric, Trauma Intensive Care, and VCOM International Rotation o 2- or 4-Week Rotations: Allergy, OMM, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Rheumatology, and Sports Medicine • (MED 8220/8221) Medical or Surgical Selective: 4 credit hours Students must seek Associate Dean approval for any rotation that is less than the required length as specified below. If a site only offers a shorter rotation, the student must submit verification from the site that a longer rotation in the specialty is not offered.
