PPE Donations to Local Hospitals

SGA and SOMA Donate to Local Food Bank VCOM-Auburn chapters of the Student Government Association and Student Osteopathic Medical Association donated $330 worth of food to the Food Bank of East Alabama.

Class of 2022 Students Hold T-shirt Fundraiser VCOM-Auburn SSP Treasurer and Secretary Jared Bies, from the Class of 2022, organized a t-shirt fundraiser on behalf of the entire campus in response to the pandemic. Working with Bies were Class of 2022 President Nathan Schlies and Vice President Mehgan Lazenby. Profits from the sale were given to the East Alabama Food Bank to provide area families with meals. The pandemic has hit food banks especially hard, creating unprecedented demand.

A group of students helped with the Alabama PPE Drive. Farrah Gaston, Class of 2021, reported a donation of N95/KN95 masks, surgical masks, homemade masks, gloves, disinfectant wipes and hair nets. Gaston reported that there were three deliveries to the East Alabama Medical Center and one delivery to Russell Medical Center. The students collected the PPE and routed it to the hospitals in need.
