VCOM-Louisiana Community Outreach

Healthcare & Medical Outreach Sports Physicals for Neville High School Athletes – Provided over 275 sports physicals under faculty supervision. ULM Athlete Physicals – Conducted medical evaluations for baseball, softball, beach volleyball, tennis, and track and field athletes. Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training – Second-year students participated in disaster readiness training with the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness. Medical Tent at Louisiana Marathon – Assisted runners with medical care at the finish line and main medical tent. Community Service & Advocacy Dixie Diehards Special Needs Baseball Games – Served as buddies for children with disabilities, helping them hit, run bases, and play safely. MedCamps of Louisiana Fall Bash – Sponsored and volunteered at a camp for children with chronic illnesses and disabilities. The Bridge at Green Street – Provided screenings for uninsured and underinsured individuals at a local community center. VolunteerUNITED Award (United Way of Northeast Louisiana) – Recognized for outstanding volunteer efforts in the region. Children’s Coalition Volunteer of the Year Award – ACOP student chapter honored for two years of volunteering at community outreach events.
