Public Health & Environmental Initiatives Ouachita Green Award Luncheon

Participation – Recognized for efforts in highway and waterway cleanup, hazardous waste removal, and recycling initiatives. Bayou WAR 5K Wilderness Adventure Race – Hosted an emergency medicine themed race, raising $1,300 for the Friends of Black Bayou.

Education & Professional Development

DO Day on the Hill (Washington, D.C.) – Students advocated for osteopathic medicine in congressional meetings. Tallulah Community Health and Violence Prevention Event – Provided blood pressure screenings and CPR demonstrations under faculty supervision. Hispanic Community Medical Outreach at Día de la Familia – Offered free health screenings and education at a cultural festival in Farmerville, Louisiana.

VCOM-Louisiana Mobile Medical Unit Fleet

VCOM-Louisiana proudly launched two new mobile clinics to serve Northeast Louisiana in partnership with the Ouachita Parish Police Jury. By bringing medical care directly to those in need, these mobile units represent a lasting investment in the region’s well-being, ensuring that even the most remote populations receive the healthcare they deserve.
