U nder the umbrella of the Harvey Peters Center Foundation, programs have been developed with Bluefield University and Averett University. These affiliated master’s programs are designed to enhance students’ science proficiency prior to attending VCOM and offer additional opportunities for professions in healthcare. Master of Arts in Biomedical Sciences (MABS) T he Master of Arts in Biomedical Sciences in Blacksburg, Virginia. Bluefield University, with collaborative teaching by VCOM faculty, offers this program that follows an academic structure similar to medical school. It prepares students academically for the rigors of medical school, nursing, or other health professions programs. Students who meet benchmarks are guaranteed an interview at VCOM, the Appalachian School of Pharmacy, and other health care professional programs. Online MABS A dditionally, an online MABS program is offered for students who wish to complete the degree without relocating to Blacksburg. www.bluefield.edu/academics/programs-of study/biomedical-sciences Master of Health Science in Anesthesia Program (MHSA) L ocated on the VCOM-Auburn campus, the Master of Health Science in Anesthesia (MHSA) Program, a 28-month program of study, is a collaboration between VCOM and Bluefield University. Clinical rotations provide the student with a comprehensive experiential knowledge base in anesthetic techniques and clinical scenarios.
