appropriate resources when they are not meeting such standards. The Associate Deans for Medical Education review all course and faculty assessments, provide feedback, and complete the educational assessment on each faculty member annually. The Associate Deans for Medical Education also work closely with the Center for Institutional, Faculty, and Student Success in their role of providing individualized and campus-wide faculty development and in providing student tutoring programs. The Associate Deans for Medical Education oversee the Department of Medical Education and the Library. Associate Deans for Biomedical Affairs The Associate Deans for Biomedical Affairs oversee the biomedical education and research programs for the College for the Division of Biomedical Sciences. As the number of biomedical faculty in each department do not warrant department chairs for each department, and due to the fact that biomedical faculty teach across disciplines, the Associate Dean serves in one role as a Division Chair. The Associate Deans for Biomedical Affairs oversee the areas of research and service programs of their Division and assists the Associate Deans for Medical Education in their oversight of the Curriculum with this Division. The Associate Deans for Biomedical Affairs are responsible to the Vice President for Research and to the Campus Dean to oversee and assure the research mission of the College is met on their campus. The Associate Deans mentor faculty on research and on their roles in service and research education for the College. The Associate Deans for Biomedical Affairs have individual research responsibilities in clinical, biomedical, and education research as well, serving as role models to the faculty. Associate Deans for Clinical Affairs The Associate Deans for Clinical Affairs have many responsibilities. The Associate Deans serve as the Division Chair overseeing the Clinical Department Chairs and clinical faculty. The Associate Deans assure the clinical faculty are meeting the expectations for teaching during the OMS 1 and 2 years as set by the Associate Dean for Medical Education and provides, along with the Associate Dean for Medical Education, advisement and correction for those Chairs not meeting educational expectations. The Associate Deans for Clinical Affairs provide oversight of all clinical affiliate sites for their campus, the Directors of Student Medical Education, the Director of OMS 3 Clinical Rotations, the Director of OMS 4 Clinical Rotations, and the Clinical Affairs department. The Associate Deans for Clinical Affairs meet with all students requesting advisement and with all students experiencing difficulty in the clinical years. The Associate Deans serve to organize and assure the execution of the clinical curriculum across the continuum through oversight of the Clinical Chairs and regular meetings of the Division. The Associate Deans for Clinical Affairs assure the consistency of the curriculum in the OMS 3 and OMS 4 years. The Associate Deans provide service to the College through committee responsibility and interviews, as well as other service they may choose. The Associate Deans for Clinical Affairs provide education on campus and also provide educational research and scholarly activity from time to time. The Associate Deans for Clinical Affairs are allowed up to 8 hours per week in a clinical practice setting to assure they remain current with clinical practice. Associate Deans for Simulation and Technology The Associate Deans for Simulation and Technology oversee the operations and the success of the Center for Simulation and Technology on each campus. The Associate Deans for Simulation and Technology oversee all staff who support the department and assure quality and consistency in grading in this arena. The Associate Deans for Simulation and Technology are responsible to each Campus Dean to administer the center in a manner that supports education and testing on their individual campuses. The Associate Deans works collaboratively with the Associate Deans for Medical Education and Associate Deans for Clinical Education to assure quality of curriculum delivery and testing in the Center. The Associate Deans for Simulation and Technology are also responsible for all research, scholarly activity, and intellectual property development in the Centers to the Vice President for Research.
