VCOM College Catalog and Student Handbook
Attendance in an external immersion program may require the cancellation of not more than two rotations in order to complete the program and take the exam. Students whose rotations are delayed due to attending an external immersion program will be placed on an Altered Degree Plan of Study (ADPOS). The length and details of the study plan will be based on each student’s individual progress. Those students who do not choose to attend an external immersion program and who choose to follow a VCOM-directed study plan will continue to study for either their second attempt of COMSAE Phase 2 or their first attempt of COMLEX Level 2 CE while they are on clinical rotations.
Option 2: Follow a VCOM-directed study plan.
o In order to be released to sit for COMLEX Level 2 CE, the student must score 65% or greater on all-topic, timed question sets of at least 25 questions in TrueLearn for a minimum of 2 weeks immediately prior to their scheduled COMLEX Level 2 CE exam. o Students must follow and complete a prescribed remediation plan as designed in order to be released to sit for a second attempt of COMSAE Phase 2 or first attempt of COMLEX Level 2 CE , which includes providing CIFSS with weekly updates regarding study plan progress and question bank performance. VCOM will evaluate students’ completion of the prescribed remediation plan when determining students’ readiness to sit for a second attempt of COMSAE Phase 2 and first attempt of COMLEX Level 2 CE and approving the students’ testing date. o Students who fail to participate in the prescribed remediation plan (which includes providing CIFSS with updates regarding study plan progress and question bank performance) or who have not participated in the required support meeting, will receive an “F” (Fail) grade for the course and be placed on a Temporary Administrative Withdrawal by the Campus Dean or will be referred by the Campus Dean to the Promotion Board for consideration for dismissal. These students will not be released to sit for COMLEX Level 2 CE until the “F” grade is resolved, as they will not have successfully completed the OMS 3 year. o Students must complete the remediation plan and sit for COMLEX Level 2 CE prior to October 1st of their OMS 4 year. Once students complete the remediation plan and sit for COMLEX Level 2 CE on the assigned date, they will receive a “P” (Pass) grade for the Comprehensive Review Course II. Those students who have not completed the plan and/or who have not sat for COMLEX Level 2 CE by prior to October 1st of their OMS 4 year will receive an “INC” (Incomplete) grade for the course and will be placed on a Temporary Administrative Withdrawal until they pass COMLEX Level 2 CE. These students will not be eligible for re-enrollment or further financial aid until they pass COMLEX Level 2 CE. The period of withdrawal may not exceed 180 days in a 12-month period or an academic year. Temporary withdrawal may not exceed a 180-day limit. Upon receiving a passing score within the 180-day limit, the student will be re enrolled to the OMS 4-year. Those students who do not pass COMLEX Level 2 CE within the 180-day limit will be dismissed by the Campus Dean.
