This project represents a clinical case in which a 57-year old male sustained what appeared to be a relatively minor head injury. He was subsequently found to have an intracranial hematoma necessitating transfer for further evaluation and management by a neurosurgeon. The patient’s presentation was notable due to the constellation of symptoms which suggested a disturbance to the Broca area. Upon imaging this was found to be the case with an intracranial hematoma near the left temporal lobe. This case involves a patient who presented to the emergency department at Merit Health Wesley Hospital in October of 2018. The poster presentation will address the patient history, presenting labs and imaging findings, as well as a brief discussion on intracranial hemorrhage.
