Discussion
Streptococcal toxic shock syndrome (STSS) is a disease defined as an infection with Group A streptococcus (GAS) accompanied by sudden onset of shock, organ failure, and frequently death. The two most severe clinical manifestations of GAS are STSS and necrotizing fasciitis 2 . The objective of this case study is to review the current knowledge of STSS including diagnostic criteria and specific treatment including the use of polyclonal intravenous immunoglobulins (IVIG).
