progress, and extend the student’s academic probation for no less than 1 calendar year. • Require the repeat of a portion or the entire clinical year. • Dismiss the student if the collective performance shows failure to make academic progress. 5.4 Recommendations for OMS 1 – OMS 4 Students for a GPA of 2.79 or Less The Promotion Board will convene when a student’s GPA initially decreases to a 2.79 or less and the Promotion Board will recommend to the Campus Dean that the student be placed on academic probation for no less than 1 calendar year. Academic Probation in this instance places the student on warning that failure of any course may result in dismissal. 5.5 Promotion Board Recommendations for COMSAE, COMPE, and COMLEX Failure A. The Promotion Board will convene when a student has the following COMSAE, COMPE, or COMLEX scenarios and the Promotion Board will recommend to the Campus Dean that the student be placed on academic probation for no less than 1 calendar year and that the student be required to work with CIFSS and the appropriate Associate Dean to follow the prescribed remediation plan and establish a date to sit for the exam. • Failed the 3 rd attempt of COMSAE Phase 1 as the final exam of the comprehensive review course • Failed the 2 nd attempt of COMSAE Phase 2 as the final exam of the comprehensive review course • Failed any level of COMLEX on 3 attempts • Failed to follow the required remediation plan for COMSAE, COMPE, or COMLEX • Failed COMPE as a component of the comprehensive review course. B. The Promotion Board will convene when a student fails the fourth attempt of any level of COMLEX, or any attempts thereafter, to be dismissed. 5.6 Additional Recommendations In addition to the recommendations above, the Promotion Board may recommend the following to the Campus Dean: • Specify a timeline or manner in which any remediation or testing must occur; • Suspension of a student with requirements for reinstatement; • Suspension of a student from academic activity and delay decision pending further evaluation and treatment; • Require participation in academic assistance programs; • Limit extracurricular activities while on academic probation; • While the Promotion Board may not consider undiagnosed impairments for grades already received, for those students who continue in the curriculum, the Promotion Board may require further assessment, including but not limited to:
