P URPOSE The purpose for the Technical Requirements for Admission and Successful Completion of the Osteopathic Program and Accommodations for Students with Disabilities Policy is to ensure that students have the skills necessary to successfully complete the medical school curriculum and to safely practice osteopathic medicine with full practice rights in the future. 2. TECHNICAL STANDARDS FOR ADMISSION AND SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE OSTEOPATHIC PROGRAM The requirements to succeed at VCOM are those required to successfully complete the medical school curriculum and to safely practice osteopathic medicine with full practice rights. VCOM supports students with disabilities who can be reasonably accommodated and who can meet the technical standards that will be required to be licensed to practice osteopathic medicine.
