Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs

Director for Clinical Rotations This committee will meet twice per year, preferably the first week of January and the last week in July to determine student academic progress and financial aid eligibility. The Associate Deans, from each campus will present to the SAP/Financial Aid Review Committee three lists that contain the names of students (OMS 1 through OMS 4 years) who are: 1. Making satisfactory academic progress with no delays; 2. On alter degree programs and/or probation; or 3. Suspended or on an approved leave of absence. The SAP/Financial Aid Review Committee will provide three decisions based on the lists prepared by the Associate Deans: 1. Students are making satisfactory academic progress—eligible to receive title IV financial aid; 2. Students are engaged in an altered degree program and/or on probation, are making satisfactory academic progress—eligible to receive title IV financial aid (may be given a Financial Aid Warning); 3. Students are not making satisfactory academic progress—not eligible to receive title IV financial aid. 3.1.Financial Aid Warning If after the review of academic performance a student is found to be making satisfactory academic progress but is on an altered degree program and probation, that student will be placed on Financial Aid Warning and title IV funds will be disbursed for the next payment period. 3.2.Financial Aid Probation and the Appeal Process Students who become ineligible to receive title IV financial aid as a result of not making satisfactory academic progress, and have been given financial aid warning, will not be eligible to receive title IV financial aid. That decision can be appealed by the student. If that appeal is successful, that student is placed on Financial Aid Probation; title IV funds are disbursed for the next payment period only. In order to continue to receive title IV funding, students on Financial Aid Probation must either meet satisfactory academic progress at the end of the payment period or be considered to be successfully following an extended academic plan that has a specific end point and includes established milestones. 4. D URATION OF P OLICY The Satisfactory Academic Progress and Financial Aid Eligibility was established by Administration, Office of Medical Education, and the Office of Clinical Affairs and is effective as of the date above and shall remain effective until amended or terminated by the President and the Dean.
