Wolfe, Ph.D. President ___________________________________________________________________________________________ VCOM Policy for Satisfactory Academic Progress and Financial Aid Eligibility (Osteopathic Medicine Program) ____________________________________________________________________________________ 1. P URPOSE The purpose of VCOM’s Satisfactory Academic Progress and Financial Aid Eligibility is to detail the requirements for academic progress that each of VCOM’s students must achieve in order to remain eligible for title IV financial aid. This policy is applicable to all students regardless of the type of payment. 2. S ATISFACTORY A CADEMIC P ROGRESS (SAP) Satisfactory academic progress is determined twice per year prior to the financial aid payment schedule. At the end of each payment period, the Associate Deans from each campus review all students to determine academic performance based upon the guidelines for satisfactory academic performance and the maximum graduation timeframe as described in the Student Policies and Procedure Handbook . That list will be forwarded to the SAP/Financial Aid Review Committee that will review academic progress and eligibility for title IV funding. 3. SAP/F INANCIAL A ID R EVIEW C OMMITTEE VCOM utilizes the SAP/Financial Aid Review Committee to determine the academic progress to determine eligibility for title IV financial aid. Each campus will have its own committee and will consist of:
