Early decision applicants must meet the following requirements, in addition to the general admission requirements listed above: • Minimum Science and Overall GPA of 3.5; • Competitive acceptable MCAT score (completed by April of the calendar year four years prior to the date of application); • Submit an application, transcripts from all institutions attended, and MCAT scores to the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine Application Service (AACOMAS) by July 1; • Submit a letter of intent to the Office of Admissions indicating that VCOM is your first choice for medical schools by July 1 and request review for Early Decision Admissions Track; • Submit all Secondary Application materials including Secondary Application, application fee, letter of recommendation from a premedical advisor/science faculty member, and a letter of recommendation from an osteopathic physician by August 15; and • Withhold all applications to other medical school until early decisions are made by VCOM. Applicants who are ranked highly on the hold or wait list from the prior academic year may be offered early decision for the next academic year without resubmission of all materials. 6. DURATION OF POLICY VCOM Admissions Policy for the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Program established by VCOM Administration and is effective as of the date above and shall remain effective until amended or terminated by the President and Provost.
