VCOM Compensation Survey Policy ____________________________________________________________________________________
1. P URPOSE The Compensation Survey Policy has been developed to establish company best practices and to comply with Internal Revenue Service (IRS) recommendations from the Form 990. C OMPENSATION S URVEY The Office of Human Resources will perform a salary survey for all VCOM employee classes at least every three years. The salary survey is intended to ensure compensation for classes of employees appears equitable and reasonable. 2.1 Compensation Survey Process The Office of Human Resources will contact several colleges, including: three area osteopathic colleges and area universities, public and private, Clemson, Virginia Tech, The University of South Carolina Upstate (Greenville or Spartanburg), to procure relevant salary surveys. The Human Resource Office may also obtain salary statistics generated by the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM) or the American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC Data Book-Faculty Compensation). The salary for classes of employees will be compiled for presentation to the Dean and Executive Vice President during budget preparation cycle for consideration. The Dean and Executive Vice President reserves the right to make or not to make salary adjustments based upon information in the compensation survey. Information from the compensation survey for the Dean and Executive Vice President and the President will be shared with the Board Chair before the board meeting at which the College budget is presented for approval. 2.
