Education & Youth Engagement
Hurricane Helene Relief Efforts (Oct. and Nov.) – VCOM students flew more than 5,000 pounds of supplies to South Carolina and North Carolina, staffed makeshift patient wards, and helped with home cleanup. Relief Efforts in Burnsville, North Carolina (Oct. and Nov.) – Coordinated donations and helped run a temporary walk-in clinic for hurricane victims. MOVE Club Trail Restoration (Oct. 29) – Cleared invasive species and repaired hurricane-damaged boardwalks on the Cottonwood Trail in partnership with Spartanburg Area Conservancy. Neighborhood Recovery Efforts (Oct.) – Assisted with home demo and cleanup for hurricane-affected families.
Summer Enrichment Experience (SEE) Program (July 19) – Hosted high school students for hands-on medical learning. High School Medical Experience with USC Upstate (March 8) – Introduced students to neuroscience, OMM, intubation, cardiology, and childbirth simulation.
Fundraising & Awareness Events
Cancer Walk (Nov. 18) – Raised awareness for cancer prevention and supported the Bearden-Josey Center for Breast Health. Spartanburg Period Project (Aug. 7) – Organized volunteers to assemble 3,000 period supply kits for local schools.
