VCOM 2023 Annual Report

2020 The global shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic closes in-person classes. VCOM students don’t miss a single class or test due to VCOM TV and other in-place online programs. The Class of 2020 graduates in a virtual online commencement event.

2021 VCOM students and faculty reach out in many ways to support community health, such as assisting with vaccination efforts, making masks for first responders during the COVID shortage, and delivering meals to veterans in need.

2022 The 20th class of students matriculated at VCOM-Virginia in Blacksburg. On the first day, students participated in outreach with Project Linus providing handmade blankets to children who are seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise in need.

2023 The seventeenth class at VCOM-Virgina, the Class of 2023, graduates 174 students. The total number of graduates rises to 2,894—over the 20 years that VCOM has been educating future physicians.
