E ach year, hundreds of alumni and friends make gifts to the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine. Their generosity goes beyond helping our medical students of today and even tomorrow. It also benefits thousands of communities these students will one day serve as physicians. Increasing the number of student scholarships is a top priority for VCOM. With more than 47% of our students coming from communities of under 30,000, we hope that if our students come out of medical school without a huge amount of debt, they will consider going back to their own hometowns where there is a great need for physicians. Thanks to your support, VCOM awarded more than $1.3 million in scholarships last spring to students on our four campuses. These scholarships are very important in giving students the opportunity to reach their full potential. We also partnered with numerous corporations and foundations who provided generous funding for programs, equipment enhancements and community outreach. We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support from our long-time donors and tremendously excited to welcome in new donors who are helping our students fulfill their dreams to help and serve others. Thank you again for helping VCOM be a leader in bringing healthcare home to those communities in greatest need.
