VCOM 2022 Annual Report

Franklin County Health Fair — The American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) student organization volunteered at the Franklin County Health Fair to provide health screenings, educational discussions, and OMM. The students and faculty were able to see 55 patients, and the fair overall served 400 members of the community.

HCMO Floyd Health Fair — The Hispanic Community Medical Outreach (HCMO) student organization took part in a community Hispanic health fair at Floyd County High School. HCMO members served as interpreters for OMM and basic screenings. HCMO leadership expressed how rewarding it was to see Hispanic first-year students engage with patients from similar cultural and linguistic backgrounds and seeing OMM work on real patients in an underserved setting while translating the techniques into Spanish.

OUTREACH
