Alumni Association Events

ACOFP Virtual Get-Together After the first day of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) Conference, the Alumni Association held a virtual night with special guests Dr. and Mrs. Jim Wolfe and Deans from the different campuses. Dr. and Mrs. Wolfe gave a short welcome and reminisced with several of the alumni in attendance. The Deans gave updates on each of the campuses. The event ended with a game of trivia and fun facts about VCOM. VCOM-Virginia Alumni Virtual Networking The Virginia Osteopathic Medical Association (VOMA) held a virtual night for the Virginia campus alumni, faculty, staff and board members of VOMA. In addition, they participated in trivia games about the campus. Health Disparities Panel Alumni participated in the Health Disparities Panel created by alumna Olutayo Sogunro, DO, Class of 2012. Each panel discussed a different health disparity that affects minority communities, especially the African American community. Social Media – VCOM Sweethearts The VCOM Alumni Association Facebook had a social media campaign in February 2021 that highlighted several “VCOM Sweethearts.” These were couples that met and married during their time at VCOM. Social Media – First Day of Residency The social media campaign for the alumni page also did a “First Day of Residency” and a series of “How it started, how it’s going” posts. Alumni also shared advice and throwback pictures of themselves.
