Michael Breiner, MD Dr. Breiner is the discipline chair for surgery and associate professor for anatomical sciences and surgery at VCOM–Virginia. For the last three years, Dr. Breiner has received external grant support for resident training: • Ethicon: VCOM advanced suturing course for residents . Courses are taught at VCOM’s OMNEE partner hospitals, and this course has proven to be very popular, as the training most requested by residents within this OMNEE network is suturing training. This course promotes clinical didactic education and directly supports competency- based education for residents and trainees. Rebecca Davis, PhD Dr. Davis is an assistant professor for preventive medicine and public health at VCOM–Virginia. She has a broad knowledge of rural health issues and building and maintaining networks, and has established partnerships that disseminate research findings and health information to rural communities across the nation: • National Cooperative of Health Networks: Building health networks for rural and small healthcare providers.

Robin Queen, PhD Dr. Queen is an adjunct associate professor at VCOM– Virginia and an associate professor of biomedical engineering and mechanics at Virginia Tech. She is involved in numerous research projects with VCOM Sports Medicine clinicians, especially P. Gunnar Brolinson, DO, and Mark Rogers, DO. She has the following grant involving VCOM personnel: • DonJoy Ortho Global: G ender differences in the performance response to brace wear following ACL reconstruction . Drs. Brolinson and Rogers are collaborators on this work.
