Cindy McKinney, PhD Dr. McKinney has worked in both industry and

university teaching and research over her career, and she is broadly trained in cell and molecular biology methodology and techniques. She is an associate professor for cell biology and physiology at VCOM– Carolinas. Dr. McKinney’s research emphasis is studying induced pluripotent stem (iPSC) cells that do not require animals to maintain. Her current funded work is through a VCOM award: • VCOM REAP: X-linked cardiomyopathy: Isogenic cell models of patient mutations in Danon disease . health at VCOM–Carolinas. Her primary research interests are focused on preventive medicine within underserved populations and improving the medical education of osteopathic medical students.
