In the absence of the President for a reasonable time , the Provost may assume the authority to appoint the designee for a College Officer or Campus Dean. 3. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE DESIGNEE The designee will assume the administrative duties of the absent or unavailable College Officer or
Campus Dean as outlined below. These may include, but are not limited to: • Managing day-to-day operations within the department or campus. • Making decisions in line with institutional policies and procedures. • Overseeing the implementation of ongoing projects and initiatives.
• Ensuring communication with faculty, staff, students, and external partners is maintained. • Reporting to senior leadership on major issues or decisions that arise during the leave period. The designee will not make decisions or take actions outside of the normal scope of the College Officer or Campus Dean’s responsibilities unless specifically authorized by the President (or the Provost in the absence of the President). 4. NOTIFICATION TO STAKEHOLDERS Once an administrative designee has been appointed, notification will be sent to faculty, staff, and students, and any other impacted individuals or groups, informing them of the temporary appointment and the designee’s responsibilities. Contact information for the designee will be provided, along with any instructions for inquiries during the College Officer or Campus Dean’s absence or unavailability. 5. DURATION OF POLICY The VCOM Administrative Designee Policy is effective as of the date above and will remain effective until amended or terminated by the President, with approval by the Board of Directors.
