other information that reflects his/her preparedness for professional training and a medical career. At the conclusion of the interviews, the interviewers submit their recommendation to the Admissions Committee. An admissions decision, based on academic performance, professional experience, and interview, will be provided to the applicant usually within two weeks following the interview. The Admissions Committee may make any of the following recommendations: to accept, to deny, or to place the applicant on a waitlist. The applicant will receive the decision letter at the address provided with the application. Applicants should keep the Admissions Office informed of any change of address. An admissions interviewer must recuse themselves from any participation in the admissions process (including attending committee meetings, screening applications, interviewing) for any applicant with whom they have any conflict of interest. The conflict will be resolved by reassigning the applicant to a different interviewer. A member of the Admissions Committee must recuse themselves from the presentation, deliberation, and vote about an applicant with whom they have any conflict of interest, as defined by the list above, by notifying the committee chair. Rescinding Admissions Offer Reasons for rescinding an offer of admission include: • intentional misrepresentation or omission of information on any form relevant to admissions or records; • failure to report prior illegal behaviors or arrests made after admissions offer; • unprofessional or unethical behavior that does not comply with VCOM policies and procedures; • failure to comply with the procedures required for matriculation; • failure to maintain a good record of scholastic performance and/or good record of personal conduct between the time of their acceptance and their matriculation at the College; • failure to pay tuition and fees by required dates; • failure to attend all orientation activities; or • failure to provide all required documentation by the required dates to the Registrar’s Office. Early Decision Admissions Track The Early Decision Admissions Track is an admissions option for those candidates who identify VCOM as their first choice for pursuing a medical education among both osteopathic and allopathic medical schools. In order to be considered for the Early Decision Admissions Track, the candidate must meet all of the regular admission requirements and agree to apply only to VCOM until an early decision notification has been made. How to Request the Early Decision Admissions Track Review 1. Submit your AACOMAS application and a letter of intent to the Office of Admissions, indicating that VCOM is your first choice for medical schools by June 15 th , and request the Early Decision Admissions Track Review. Please also specify your preferred campus. 2. Submit all Secondary Application materials including the Secondary Application, application fee, and a letter of recommendation from a premedical advisor/science faculty member by July 15 th . 3. Withhold applications to all other medical school until early decisions are made by VCOM. 4. Admissions decisions are made by VCOM by October 1. Transfer Applicants VCOM does not commonly accept transfer students. When a compelling reason exists, a student may be reviewed for transfer by the Ad-hoc Committee on Student Transfers. VCOM does not accept transfer students from
