students will not be eligible for re-enrollment or further financial aid until they pass COMLEX Level 1.  Upon receiving a passing score for COMLEX Level 1, the student will receive a “P” (Pass) grade for the Comprehensive Review Course (provided they have met all other course requirements) and will be promoted to the OMS 3 year. • Students who score less than 460 on COMSAE Phase 1 on the third attempt will receive an “F” (Fail) grade for the Comprehensive Review Course and will be brought before the Promotion Board. The Promotion Board will review the remediation plan as set forth by CIFSS and the Associate Dean for Pre Clinical Medical Education and may make additional recommendations as to the remediation process for the Comprehensive Review Course. To resolve the “F” grade and be released to sit for COMLEX Level 1, the student is required to do the following: o Meet with CIFSS and the Associate Dean for Pre-Clinical Medical Education to extend and/or modify their current prescribed remediation plan. The plan includes a tentative date the student is to sit for COMLEX Level 1. The Campus Dean will review the remediation plan as set forth by CIFSS and the Associate Dean for Pre-Clinical Education and may make additional recommendations as to the remediation process for the Comprehensive Review Course. o Students who score less than 460 on the third attempt have two options for remediation:  Option 1: Attend a VCOM approved external immersion program.

 External immersion programs are generally held for a period of 4 – 6 weeks. Students typically need an additional 2 – 4 weeks of independent study following the immersion program before they feel ready to sit for the exam.  Students who choose to attend a VCOM approved external immersion program are enrolled in VCOM’s National Board Preparation course either on the first day of the start of the course or on the first day of the regularly scheduled OMS 3 year (whichever comes first). Students may not be enrolled in the course for longer than 60 days.  In order to be released to sit for COMLEX Level 1, the student must score 65% or greater on all-topic, timed question sets of at least 25 questions in TrueLearn for a minimum of 2-weeks.  Students must follow and complete the prescribed remediation plan as designed in order to be allowed to sit for COMLEX Level 1. This includes requiring the student to submit to CIFSS updates regarding study plan progress and question bank performance as outlined in the course syllabus. VCOM will evaluate students’ completion of the prescribed remediation plan when evaluating students’ readiness to sit for COMLEX Level 1 and approving the students’ testing date.  Students enrolled in VCOM’s National Board Preparation course must sit for COMLEX Level 1 within 60 days of the first day of the course. • Upon sitting for COMLEX Level 1 within the required timeframe, the student will receive a “P” (Pass) grade for the Comprehensive Review Course (provided they have met all other course requirements) and will be promoted to the OMS 3 year. • Those students enrolled in VCOM’s National Board Prep course who do not sit for COMLEX Level 1 within 60 days of the first day of the course will receive an “INC” (Incomplete) grade for the National Board Prep Course and maintain the “F” grade for the Comprehensive Review Course and will not be eligible for promotion to the OMS 3 year. These students will be temporarily withdrawn until they receive a passing COMLEX
