Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a rapidly growing field with integration into many different specialties in medicine. There are currently 882 FDA-approved medical devices that incorporate AI features, across 18 different specialties. In order to best understand the potential and limitations of artificial intelligence in the medical field, it is important that physicians learn which devices are available and how they can be utilized in the medical decision-making process. This paper delves into the potentials and limitations of six AI-based medical devices used in radiology,

along with cardiovascular, neurologic, and ophthalmic diagnostics. Devices were found based on the FDA approved AI/MLA devices list found on their website. The original documents submitted to the FDA were used to find the devices and to research on how the devices can be utilized by physicians along with their limitations. The use of AI can be a beneficial tool in medicine when used adjunct with physicians’ clinical knowledge. AI algorithms can analyze large amounts of data, identify patterns, and generate insights that

may aid in early diagnosis and personalized treatment plans. These tools are not meant to replace the physician but be used to make the physician's clinical process more accurate and efficient. As AI technology continues to rapidly integrate into society, more AI devices will likely be developed and approved in the field of medicine. Therefore, it is important that physicians remain up to date with the works of these devices and how it may benefit their field of care in order to improve patient outcomes.
