Non-traumatic subdural hematoma has a low prevalence of around 0.7-6.7%. It can be caused by vascular malformation, coagulopathies, neoplasm, and hypertension among others. This case report discusses a 56-year-old female who presented to the emergency department with a 6-day history of headache, dizziness, nausea, and photophobia. The patient
didn’t report any previous trauma and was not taking any medication. Her neurological examination was unremarkable except for the symptoms mentioned above. The lack of neurological deficit either sensory or motor makes for an atypical presentation of a non-traumatic subdural hematoma. This case report will review blood work, medications, and surgical
approaches used to treat this patient. In addition, this report will discuss the etiology, prevalence, and common presentation of non-traumatic subdural hematoma. Preceptor: Dr. Michael Trahos Patient consent was obtained for this case report.
