Research Scholars Bruce Gutierrez and Kyle Walding – Student Doctors Gutierrez and Walding worked with Dr. Johnson on a point of care diagnostic kit for pneumonia, nosocomial bacterial vaccine development and a UV-induced skin cancer project. Jonathan Taylor Rawley – Student Doctor Rawley did a dissection of the vertebral artery in the neck and cranial cavity. The specimen has been used as a teaching tool for the last three years. Ryan Kasky – Student Doctor Kasky worked with Dr. Kim Wilson, from our Eastern Virginia site, on a project designed to determine disparities in healthcare delivery in an urban population. Project will continue with Dr. Wilson during student doctor Kasky’s residency. He also worked with Dr. Meacham and Dr. Sutphin on health education projects at our international mission sites. Hiral Patel and Reza Razvi – Student Doctors Patel and Razvi worked with Dr. Hrubec to evaluate oral and ambient exposure to quaternary ammonium disinfectants on neural tube defect formation.
