CMDA Christian & Medical Dental Association

T he Christian Medical and Dental Association (CMDA) at VCOM allows students to connect their faith and career through local Christian physicians, service opportunities and faith-based resources. The group works to serve Christ and support one another throughout their medical school journeys and beyond. • Every Friday night, CMDA met for Bible study, singing worship songs, and hanging out with friends. • On Tuesday and Thursday mornings throughout the year, CMDA met for a time of scripture reading and prayer. • CMDA and the Family Medicine Club put on an Outreach Health Fair, with the help of the New River Valley Adventist Church,

at Bisset Park in Radford. They performed health screenings including blood pressure readings, glucose checks and OMM. • CMDA hosted a question and answer Panel with VCOM upperclassmen and alumni to field questions about life beyond second-year. They gave advice and encouraged the members in their careers. • CMDA partnered with MMSA to help the Blacksburg Refugee Partnership in their efforts to resettle refugees. They were able to help put on a health fair, as well as provide childcare so that families were able to get healthcare and information.
