continually grow and pass on our passions to the next generation of osteopathic physicians. ■ ■ Mentorship – About one- third of our alumni are proud of their dedication to our current students. They make themselves available for questions about residency programs and specialties and also offer encouragement that I know our student doctors appreciate. Eighty-five alumni are also impacting our students by serving as VCOM faculty and we are continually thankful for their hard work. ■ ■ The Osteopathic Community – VCOM alumni were involved with many events this year to strengthen their bonds with others in the profession and to continue to learn and enhance their VOMA meeting at the Hotel Roanoke, ACOFP in Florida and the AAO Convocation in Colorado, just to name a few. recognized as VCOM Alumni Mentors. I am happy to say that the VCOM alumni board had another great year. A special thanks to our board members who worked hard this year to provide great events for our alumni and continue the high levels of engagement that VCOM has consistently displayed. Everyone’s commitment to remaining connected and the camaraderie I have found here is what makes my position fantastic. ■ ■ VCOM Homecoming – This year’s Homecoming brought alumni and their families back to Blacksburg the weekend of September 23rd to enjoy an evening at the Firefly Winery and a tailgate before the Virginia Tech game against East Carolina. Several classes were represented and alumni had the opportunity to attend many great CME sessions.
