Bridget Peters was recently published as an expert commentator in the American College of Sports Medicine’s Health and Fitness Journal . Her commentary was part of “Worldwide Survey for Fitness Trends,” which is published annually. These findings were also published in the U.S. News & World Report article, “Health Buzz: The American College of Sports Medicine predicts the top fitness trends of 2016.”

Jesse Rockmore has been selected to participate in the Student Constituency Board of the National Rural Health Association (NRHA) in the position of Student Outreach Coordinator. This position holds a two year term and works with MD students across the nation to develop interest groups and liaison programs in rural medicine at MD and DO schools.

Congratulations to Sarah Badach, Frank Freund, Lauren Pronman, Rebecca Smith, and Chip Wiginton for receiving a second place award at the OMED annual conference in October for their poster presentation, “The Use of Osteopathic Techniques to Treat Iliotibial Band Dysfunction in CrossFit ® Athletes.”

Brian Anderson was recently published as second author of “Loss of NOX-derived superoxide exacerbates diabetogenic CD4 T cell effector responses in Type 1 Diabetes,” an article in Diabetes , the journal of the American Diabetes Association.
