The Class of 2021 Graduates G raduation is a date each medical student looks forward to when they begin their journey to become an osteopathic physician. At each campus, every spring commencement is held for the newest physicians. It is a celebration of their hard work and accomplishments that they and their families and friends can take part in. In May 2021, a total of 469 VCOM medical students were honored with the degree of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. These graduation ceremonies featured several speakers

including welcome and remarks from VCOM President and Provost Dixie Tooke-Rawlins, DO, FACOFP, and VCOM Chairman John Rocovich Jr., JD, LLM, followed by a message from each campus Dean. Delivering the graduation address were Randal “R.J.” Kirk, for VCOM-Virginia, South Carolina state Sen. Josh Kimbrell, for VCOM-Carolinas, and Jimmy Sanford, for VCOM-Auburn. This was a proud accomplishment of each campus as these students will go on to make a positive impact in the lives of thousands of patients.
