VCOM View Vol 11 No 1

All these items are cut, stitched and fabricated by hand. Valued at hundreds of dollars apiece, each unique quilt represents two to three weeks of detailed work to produce. Every quilt donated features a different pattern, color theme and style, reflecting the artistic vision of the individual quilter. This project is a huge team effort involving all of our campuses, student organizations, donations from churches and Honduras personnel, logistical support from VCOM Board member Jimmy Gibbs, and VCOM Clinic staff in Honduras and El Salvador who will be purchasing and wrapping gifts. This is what we can do when we cannot travel. With VCOM students, faculty, staff and friends in the U.S. and abroad working together, this beautiful handiwork will soon brighten the living quarters of these children and bring a smile to them as well as us here at VCOM. VCOM organizations are raising funds for children’s gifts to Honduras and El Salvador. All funds that exceed meeting the children’s present needs will go toward building a playground for malnourished children in the special program at the VCOM-affiliated Baxter Clinic. If you would like to help, please visit our secure donation page at www.vcom.edu/ giving/give-online and select the “International Medical Mission Fund” from the drop-down menu. ■
