Capt. Joshua A. Herring, DO AOF/ACOFP Outstanding Resident of the Year in Family Medicine VCOM-Virginia Class of 2019

Jessica Ewen Donna Jones Moritsugu Memorial Award spouse of Riley Ewen, DO VCOM-Virginia Class of 2021

Capt. Joshua A. Herring, DO , VCOM-Virginia Class of 2019, who is currently serving the country at Eglin Air Force Base, was honored as the AOF/ACOFP Outstanding Resident of the Year in Family Medicine. Jessica Ewen, spouse of Riley Ewen, DO , VCOM- Virginia Class of 2021, was also honored with the AOF/AAOA 2021 Donna Jones Moritsugu Memorial Award. The award honors the married life partners of graduating osteopathic medical students who best exemplify the type of immeasurable support and personal sacrifice that is crucial to their partner’s success, leading to the betterment of their future and of society. The AOF gala and evening of awards announcements was a wonderful night for the entire VCOM family! ■ Congratulations!

designation Educator of the Year is awarded to an individual who not only emulates the osteopathic profession’s highest standards of excellence in teaching, but one who is passionate about osteopathic medicine, has made a significant impact on the academic advancement of osteopathic students and has made long-standing contributions to the profession in the academic arena. “Dr. Brolinson has instructed countless students, residents and fellows both inside and outside the classroom in the clinical application of osteopathic medicine. He is one of the most productive researchers in our profession and diligently serves as our College’s vice provost for research. On behalf of all the VCOM campus deans, I can readily say that he is most deserving of this honor, and we are thrilled to see him receive this award,” said President and Provost Dixie Tooke- Rawlins, DO, FACOFP.
