Prioritizing Preventive Health Practices

V COM-Carolinas has partnered with the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) and Cherokee County School District to carry out the mission of serving communities most in need. This partnership is a local outreach endeavor to provide vaccinations as part of a pilot mobile vaccination program. With the support of DHEC, VCOM’s faculty and student volunteers are taking the Mobile Medical Unit to specific schools in Cherokee County to administer recommended vaccinations to public school children. The Mobile Medical Unit is also traveling to sites across

Stoner, PhD, MPH, Assistant Professor, Discipline Chair for Preventive Medicine and Public Health (pictured above, lower right). “Our faculty, staff and students are honored to partner with DHEC through the Mobile Medical Unit to help ensure the health and safety of our children and the surrounding communities,” said Stoner. ■
