serving standardized patients in the program. “He was just having too much fun!” Judy explained as to why she joined the program after him. Recently, the experience from earlier in their life kept weighing heavy on their minds, and hearts. They discussed finding opportunities to support that they were really passionate about until one day they thought about VCOM and the SP program. After talking this over, they decided “Why not?” They were at a time in their life where their needs were met and their wants were few. The opportunity to support VCOM students presented itself. “It is our hope that VCOM and its students continue to expand their knowledge in the medical field and provide broad services and opportunities for the rural and underserved areas.” They believe in the mission of VCOM and know access to healthcare in the community is vital. The Bircher’s scholarship support will give VCOM students more opportunity to focus on their studies instead of financial burdens. “We found our purpose and a perfect way to pay it forward. We were grateful for the support we were given, and we know the students will benefit from our gift.” ■
