stress and T2DM and we looked at the interrelations of which factors may contribute to each separately. This previous research was sourced from studies that looked at different factors in relation to either stress or diabetes. As a follow up, survey research can be conducted involving participants of South Asian Heritage who are at least 21 years old with a documented history of T2MD and this would allow further insight on the effects of stress on T2DM. Results: Currently, we found that there are many factors that impact both stress and T2DM in similar ways. Upon analysis, there is interplay between those factors which help solidify the connection of stress to T2DM especially in our chosen population. Conclusion: In conclusion, the literature suggests that there may be an association between T2DM

and stress in the South Asian population, although it is difficult to prove this without conducing further experiments. As a follow-up to this initial report, further research can be taken on to experimentally validate our hypothesis.

Context: This study was undertaken to look at the relationship between stress and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in the South Asian population. Previous research suggests that stress and T2DM are both multifactorial in nature. However, no relationship has been made to confirm the effect that stress plays in T2DM or its diagnosis and management. Furthermore, this population was identified because research suggests that stress and T2DM is more prevalent in the South Asians. Objective: The purpose of this study is to look at different factors that may individually influence stress levels and T2DM and then determine if stress has a direct impact on T2DM in South Asian individuals. Methods: In the first stage of this project, we have analyzed previous research conducted in the realms of
