Background: Os Peroneum Syndrome is an uncommon condition affecting a limited number of individuals that have an os peroneus accessory bone. About one in four individuals in the population have the os peroneus bone which can present both unilaterally and bilaterally. Most individuals with the bone do not show pathology and typically when the pathology presents it’s a separate insult that causes the syndrome sequela. Objective: Can OMM help with Os Peroneum Syndrome. Methods: Serial OMM treatments were conducted at 3 or 4 day intervals. Techniques include myofacial release, muscle energy, balanced ligamentous tension. Results: OMM was a useful adjunct in helping to alleviate the pain associated Os Peroneum syndrome. Conclusions: OMT is not a common treatment found in the literature associated with os peroneum though it proved a helpful adjunct in the treatment of this patient. With OMT we were able to reduce the patient’s pain and improve ambulation. Though there are too many variables, Os peroneum proves difficult to study

due to lack of prevalence in the population and that its finding and diagnosis are typically incidental and require a proper history and physical. Because most cases are incidental it’s difficult to study the disease and the efficacy of different treatments.
