T he American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians (ACOEP) student organization works to ensure its members have access to a multitude of educational events and guest speakers to gain exposure to the field of emergency medicine. This was an eventful year for ACOEP! Members partnered with SafeKids of Spartanburg to set up a Halloween Town station for the annual VCOM Pediatric Wellness Fair, teaching children to stay safe while trick-or- treating by obeying traffic signals and keeping an eye out for traffic. ACOEP also hosted a Dinner and a Movie event, screening a film relevant to emergency medicine. Members also enhanced their educa- tion and expertise through a number

of clinics and workshops. They hosted an EKG workshop with Greg Jebailey, MD, and partnered with the OB/GYN student organization for a suture clinic with Ronald Januchowski, DO, and Ty Robertson, DO. The organization welcomed Jennifer Combs, BSN, RN, for a Domestic Violence Seminar that offered training to help identify victims of domestic and sexual assault, along

with patient care tips for treating victims of assault. ACOEP also invited Thomas Cook, MD, director of the Palmetto Health International Emer- gency Residency program, to speak to members about the program and careers in emergency medicine.
