Jeff Cashman, DO, was elected to the South Carolina Medical Association (SCMA) Board of Trustees as Young Physician Representative. Randal Gregg, PhD, received the Best Clinical Lecturer Award from VCOM students

during Block Five of 2016-2017, and was appointed to the Editorial Board for the Journal of Cellular Immunology in January 2017. Dr. Gregg was awarded a Research Eureka Accelerator Program Grant in 2016-2017 for his project, “Effect of Zaire Ebolavirus soluble proteins upon the functions of innate immune cells.” He also presented “Ebola virus soluble proteins operate to diminish natural killer cell function,” at the American Society for Microbiologists (ASM) South Carolina Branch Spring Meeting in 2017.
