importantly have grown in faith in Christ, meeting the mission of this organization.

All in all, the CMDA student organization had a great year,

IMA Islamic Medical Association

T he purpose of this organization is to promote brotherhood and sisterhood among medical students of diverse backgrounds, while educating individuals about the principles of Islam, its influence on medicine, and the importance of community service. The focus of this group is to provide Islamic knowledge to fellow Muslims as well as people

with other beliefs, creating a spiritual environment for medical students, and advancing the Quranic principles of healthcare. The organization will advance the College’s mission by enhancing the following: preventative care through further education of the community; service to the underserved, disadvantaged,

and impoverished part of the population; and the spread of scientific knowledge through research endeavors and teaching the public. IMA is a growing organization at VCOM–Carolinas, with plans to organize a number of community events in the future.
