T he Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine-Auburn campus student organization, the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) is a nationally recognized membership comprised of physicians, residents, medical students, pre-medical students, health care professionals and supporters. AMWA’s branch at VCOM is dedicated to advancing women in medicine and improving women’s health. Our goal as a part of AMWA is to empower the young women in our medical school, as well as in our community, to lead in improving health for all within a model that reflects the unique perspective of women.

The American Medical Women’s Association is an organization that functions at the local, national and international level to advance women in medicine and improve women’s health. This mindset is achieved by providing and developing leadership, advocacy, education, expertise, mentoring and strategic alliances. This year at VCOM, and continuing into the future, our goal will be to participate in volunteer and fundraising opportunities to help support our local chapter and give back to our home-grown community here in Auburn, as well as internationally. We believe in creating strong women doctors. Come stand with us.
