community on Halloween night. Held aboard the VCOM mobile medical unit, the event offered both standard and high-dose vaccines with no insurance or appointment required. Mobile Medical Unit Outreach Two new mobile medical units at VCOM-Louisiana visited 10 community sites and served nearly 150 individuals. A consistent return schedule to some sites will strengthen community engagement as individuals share their experiences, encourage peers to participate, and continue prioritizing preventive care. Community Service and Disaster Relief ACOP partnership with Dixie Diehards The VCOM-Louisiana student chapter of the American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians (ACOP) partnered with the Dixie Diehards to provide special needs children and young adults with the opportunity to play baseball in a safe, supportive environment. The Simple Project VCOM-Louisiana faculty and student members of the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians (ACOEP)

chapter hosted several events, including preparing a feast, offering blood pressure checks, and distributing essentials.

Healthcare and Medical Outreach 7th Annual Community Health & Wellness Expo VCOM-Louisiana students greeted guests, provided blood pressure screenings, shared resources, demonstrated OMM, and spread smiles among families in Northeast Louisiana as they prepared for the back-to-school season. Health screenings at Ouachita Grand Plaza Student members of the American College of Osteopathic Internists (ACOI) and American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians (ACOEP) volunteered at the Ouachita Grand Plaza, a senior independent living community. They led an engaging presentation on hypertension, offered free health screenings, and provided snacks to the residents. Flu Shot Clinic The American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians (ACOEP) club at VCOM Louisiana teamed up with Louisiana Families for Vaccines to host a free flu shot clinic for the

National Day of Service Student members of the

American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOOG) chapter spent the National Day of Service at the Family Justice Center of Ouachita Parish, taking on tasks like yard work, trash pickup, and even parking lot striping. Wellspring’s “Organization of the Year” Award The American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOOG) chapter at VCOM-Louisiana received Wellspring’s “Organization of the Year” Award in honor of the chapter’s outstanding volunteerism and ongoing commitment to supporting the Northeast Louisiana community. MedCamps of Louisiana Fall Bash at Camp Alabama VCOM-Louisiana sponsored the event, which promotes health and wellness for children and young adults with chronic illnesses and disabilities through meaningful recreational and educational experiences. VCOM-Louisiana students led horseback rides, made cotton candy, and served in the first aid area.
