Welcome Dean Januchowski In October 2023, VCOM-Virginia officially welcomed Ronald Januchowski, DO, FACOFP, as its new dean. Dr. Januchowski started at VCOM-Carolinas when it opened in 2011 and most recently served as the associate dean for curriculum, assessment and medical education there. Dr. Januhowski graduated

from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and served in the Army, completing his family medicine residency at Womack Army Medical Center. An established leader in the osteopathic community, Dr. Januchowski was a member of the South Carolina Osteopathic Medical Society (SCOMS) and is a SCOMS past president. When asked what he was looking forward to the most at

VCOM-Virginia, he said, “I am looking forward to working with the excellent students, faculty and staff assembled at the VCOM-Virginia campus.

Although quite young for a medical school, VCOM has rich traditions and I hope to enjoy adding to the academic, research and community service spirit here in Blacksburg.”
