VCOM 2023 Annual Report

Alumni Association Events VCOM’s Alumni Association hosts alumni social receptions and coordinates VCOM exhibits at numerous national conferences throughout the year, allowing opportunities to engage with alumni and their families, as well as build relationships with attending physicians, preceptors and friends of the College. Events in 2023 included Osteopathic Medical Education Conference (OMED) in Orlando, Florida, the American Academy of Osteopathy (AAO) Convocation in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) in Orlando, Florida. The Alumni Association also connected with alumni at state events like the South Carolina Osteopathic Medical Society (SCOMS) winter conference and the spring 2023 Virginia Osteopathic Medical Association (VOMA) conference. The Alumni Association also hosted alumni engagement sessions in Abingdon, Virginia; Richmond, Virginia; Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and Atlanta, Georgia. Homecoming Events VCOM-Virginia held its 2023 Homecoming in September. Alumni from all class years were invited, and the full weekend of events included Continuing Medical Education (CME) sessions, an alumni dinner and reception at the Hahn Horticulture Garden and a Virginia Tech football game and tailgate.
