Jon Commander, MD • VCOM REAP: A novel clinical tool for neuropathic grade assessment. Dr. Commander serves as Co-PI of this project along with a faculty member from AU Mechanical Engineering. Wei Liu, PhD, Kenny Brock, DVM, PhD, and a faculty member from AU Mechanical Engineering are investigators on this study. This is a multi-year study and will continue into 2021. Josh Hollingsworth, PharmD, PhD • VCOM REAP: Minute calisthenics: A daily, habit- based, bodyweight resistance- training program. Kaelin Young, PhD, and a faculty member from AU Kinesiology are co- investigators. Wei Liu, PhD • VCOM AUBE (matching funds from Auburn University Samuel Ginn School of Engineering): Evaluating the effect of Tai Chi on muscular imbalance in females aged 50 and over using magnetic resonance imaging. Dr. Liu serves as Co-PI in partnership with his collaborator at AU Mechanical Engineering. Danielle McCullough, PhD • VCOM AUBE (matching funds from Auburn University Samuel Ginn School of Engineering): Novel engineered nanoparticle based drug delivery and biosensing assay system for in vivo prostate cancer treatment and monitoring. Materials Engineering. Darren Beck, PhD, and a faculty member from AU Harrison School of Pharmacy are investigators. Richard Virgilio, DO • VCOM AUBE (matching funds from Auburn University Samuel Ginn School of Engineering): Identifying and mitigating the

underlying causes of physician and nurse burnout at UAB Health System. A collaborator from AU Industrial Systems Engineering serves as Co-PI, and a faculty member from AU Industrial Systems Engineering is an investigator on the project. This is a two-year study and will continue into 2021.
