The Shalom Family Medicine Clinic The continuous care was restricted to emergency medicine. The clinic was able to provide COVID-19 detection, treatment and referral. All services were moved to tents in the parking lot for screening and treatment with restricted access to clinic facilities that only had equipment for services for OB/GYN procedures.

“Our children were isolated for almost a year from receiving visitors and being able to go to school or anywhere else outside of the home due to the government COVID-19

restrictions, which created a level of depression and anxiety. Receiving gifts from VCOM was a tender reminder to the children that they are not forgotten and are cherished in the hearts of others. Thank you so much for your efforts to bring smiles to their little faces and fill hearts with the warm feeling of love.” Teri Benner President of the Shalom Orphanage in El Salvador

Despite a reduction of patients due to COVID-19 restrictions 6,772 TOTAL PATIENTS were seen at the Shalom Family Medicine Clinic from January through October of 2020.
