Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus Support VCOM All Year Long

L orinda “Rindy” and Samuel L. Lionberger, Jr. are staunch College supporters and have been closely involved with VCOM for more than twenty years. Sam, retired President and CEO of Lionberger Construction, provided early and invaluable consulting to the College when it constructed its main academic buildings on the Virginia and South Carolina campuses. The Lionbergers, also known affectionately as Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus on the Virginia campus, bring holiday cheer each year to the VCOM families at its annual campus- wide Christmas Party. In addition to their volunteer service, the Lionbergers contribute through VCOM’s Annual Fund. Gifts to the Annual Fund are especially important and support vital College

initiatives, such as scholarships, Appalachian, Delta, and International Outreach, Innovative Research, Faculty Support and New Technologies. When asked about their volunteer and financial support, Sam and Rindy said, “Having been involved with VCOM for many years, we see first-hand how the College is improving healthcare for families living throughout Appalachia and the Southeastern United States. We are proud to be part of the VCOM family. Our involvement with VCOM reiterates the high degree of faith we have in the College’s vision for improving access to healthcare in the region.” ■
